Members of the international Hip Hop community will convene in a virtual summit on Friday, February 12th to discuss their unique experiences set forth during these unprecedented times. “Pangea: Hip Hop Heals”, a compilation produced by emcee, artist and community organizer King Khazm, spotlights diverse perspectives surrounding the current Coronavirus pandemic and related experiences. In April of 2020, the U.S. Department of State awarded 25 Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund grants for public service projects that address issues related to the COVID-19 crisis and help build community resilience, including Khazm’s Pangea project.
“We are thrilled that our U.S. alumni are using the skills and knowledge they gained during their exchange programs overseas to join the worldwide effort against COVID-19,” said Marie Royce, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. “These Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund public service projects uplift communities and provide them with resources and education needed to fight the pandemic.”
